What are the functional characteristics of Power switchgear?
2025-10-16 14:46:27

Power switchgear refer to those that play a role in power generation, transmission, distribution, energy conversion, and consumption in the power system, with a voltage level of 3.6. KV~550kV electrical products mainly include high-voltage circuit breakers, high-voltage isolating switches and grounding switches, high-voltage load switches, high-voltage automatic reclosers and sectionalizers, high-voltage operating mechanisms, high-voltage explosion-proof distribution devices, etc.

Usually, when an Low voltage complete distribution cabinet malfunctions, it is often due to one or several components malfunctioning, which affects the overall operation. The following high-voltage distribution cabinet manufacturers have summarized that the following components are prone to malfunction:

1. Cable

Cable faults are usually phase to phase short circuits, and even single-phase short circuits can gradually evolve into two-phase or three-phase short circuits due to long discharge times. At this point, it is necessary to inspect the fault point and handle it before powering on, otherwise it will burn out more equipment.

2. Voltage Transformer

Voltage transformer faults usually cause the side fuse to melt, resulting in inter turn, inter layer, inter phase, and one phase grounding occurring inside the voltage transformer, which may cause the side fuse to melt. When there is a fault on the secondary side of a voltage transformer, if the secondary side fuse is selected too large, it is easy to cause the primary side fuse to burn out. When a 10kV power supply is grounded, the ground voltage of the other two phases will increase to three times the root, resulting in an increase in current and fuse burnout.

3. Current Transformer

The fault of current transformers is usually caused by overheating of the iron core, which can easily burst in severe cases. If the current transformer is overloaded, has a secondary open circuit, or has insulation damage that causes discharge, it will cause abnormal sounds. At this point, it is necessary to analyze the cause and take corresponding measures to solve the problem.

4. Lightning arrester

As the main component for protecting switchgear, lightning arresters should be regularly maintained. Usually, the failure of lightning arresters is caused by damage to the magnetic insulation or direct explosion. Once the lightning arrester malfunctions, it should be replaced in a timely manner.
